Pharmacy delivery is the transport of dispensed medicines or pharmacy products to a patient. It is separate from receiving an electronic prescription. Delivery depends on the pharmacy's service area, stock, supply requirements and logistics. It should not be assumed to be immediate, free or suitable for every medicine or urgent situation.
What happens before a medicine is dispatched?
The pharmacy must receive the necessary prescription information where required and complete its dispensing checks. A pharmacist may contact you with questions. Payment or submission of a token does not necessarily mean the medicine has been approved for supply or packed.
Confirm stock availability, the delivery address and a contact number. Ask whether someone needs to be present and how the package will be handled if delivery fails. Do not assume a parcel can safely be left outdoors, especially where storage conditions matter.

How do eScripts fit in?
An electronic prescription token can be sent to a pharmacy through its approved process. If that pharmacy offers delivery, it can explain how to place the order and receive counselling. The token itself does not arrange transport or reserve stock.
Keep tokens private and avoid sending the same active token to several pharmacies without explaining the situation. If you change providers, confirm the status of the prescription and order first. This helps prevent duplicate work and confusion about whether a supply has already occurred.
What should I do if I am running out?
Contact the pharmacy promptly and ask about realistic timing or local collection. Do not change doses to stretch supply without clinical advice. Delivery delays are not a substitute for reviewing a treatment interruption that could be unsafe.
Doccio's prescription service is separate from the dispensing pharmacy. A doctor decides whether prescribing is appropriate; pharmacy stock, delivery arrangements and charges remain subject to the pharmacy's process. Seek urgent care if the underlying illness is worsening while you wait.
Where to go next
Read prescription consultations to understand the relevant service. A doctor decides whether a consultation, examination, referral or another pathway is appropriate for your situation.
